On Friday 18th June, we were lucky enough to be invited to the MotoGP practise day at Silverstone by Roberto Petrozzi of Taberneria.

Selling top quality Italian food, Taberneria were sponsoring the Fimmco Speed Up team in the Moto2 class at this year’s event.

Having had a whistle stop tour of the hospitality, pit lane and track we settled down for an excellent pre-practice Taberneria lunch.

Then it was off the pit lane to watch the likes of Lorenzo, Stoner, Hayden and Pedrosa speed past was in quite exhilarating fashion.

The speed at which these guys can go on two wheels is quite frightening !

Unfortunately, as happens with most British sporting events, the heaven’s opened for the Moto2 practise but that didn’t dampen our spirits.

A quick change of tyres and Fimmco’s leading rider Andrea Iannone, fresh from his win at Mugello, set off in what the experts call ‘testing conditions’ !

If it looked scary in the dry it looked just plain crazy in the wet.

Unfortunately England didn’t quite round off our day in style with the football, but then again our Italian friends seem to have caught the same bug.
